One of our key clients is looking for a “Occupational (Industrial) Hygienist” with following requirements.
Mandatory
Knowledge of current UAE legislation and codes of practice including ADOSH, EAD, etc
Well versed in international best practice (including WHO, ACGIH and ILO) and standards (ANSI Z10, ISO 450001)
Experience in the energy sector is an advantage
Competent to conduct training on occupational health hazards, risks and control measures.
Proven ability to design, develop and implement an occupational Health Risk Assessment.
Ability to assess occupational health risks (using qualitative and quantitative methods) that are associated with exposure to health hazards , experience with statistical reporting and trend analysis
Previous case study experiences either in academic or industry is highly desirable
Evaluate and decide on appropriate hierarchy of control measures.
Prepare inventories of all Occupational Health Hazards [i.e. physical, biological, chemical, psychosocial, ergonomic, radiological, and environmental].
Ability to quantify occupational health risk, both the likelihood of exposure to the hazard, as well as the severity of the health effects in the event of an exposure.
In depth knowledge of biological investigative tests or procedures used to identify ill-health or to provide an early identification of disease or disability.
Excellent verbal and written English
Ability to produce highly professional reports utilizing expert level Office 365 skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
Proficient in using occupational hygiene monitoring equipment and software.
Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in occupational Hygiene, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
Professional certification in Occupational Hygiene (e.g., Certified Industrial Hygienist – CIH or equivalent) advantageous
Experience
Minimum of five years of experience in occupational health and safety, with a focus on industrial hygiene.
