Senior Procurement manager

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

  • Leverage extensive experience in sourcing spare parts, raw materials, machinery, and equipment within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Identify and select appropriate equipment, such as paint booths, washing stations, compressors, hydraulic presses, welding machines, and cranes, in alignment with client specifications.
  • Negotiate and finalize technical and commercial details, including installation requirements and site constraints, while managing civil and MEP construction needs.
  • Oversee procurement of materials for construction and interior projects, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
  • Procure vehicles, including cars, pickups, trailer bodies, and recovery trucks, while establishing and executing long-term maintenance contracts.
  • Interpret construction drawings to finalize specifications for various equipment and machinery.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company objectives, focusing on cost reduction, supplier consolidation, and fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Analyze market trends to anticipate changes and identify new sourcing opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable sourcing and favorable terms.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions to achieve optimal pricing, quality, and delivery schedules.
  • Conduct supplier performance reviews, evaluating service levels and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through competitive sourcing, supplier negotiations, and process enhancements.
  • Analyze total cost of ownership (TCO) and lifecycle costs to maximize long-term value.
  • Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and corporate compliance in procurement processes, emphasizing ethical sourcing practices.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies, including supplier diversification and contingency planning for critical goods and services.
  • Monitor global and regional risks affecting procurement.
  • Oversee the preparation and execution of procurement contracts, ensuring clarity in terms, deliverables, and penalties.
  • Manage the contract lifecycle, addressing disputes and amendments as necessary.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team, setting clear objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive accountability and results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of procurement activities with overall business goals.
  • Conduct regular supplier evaluations, assessing their ability to meet quality, delivery, and cost targets.
  • Implement corrective action plans and improvement initiatives with underperforming suppliers.
  • Streamline procurement processes to reduce lead times and enhance supply chain efficiency.
  • Utilize data analytics to track procurement performance, monitor trends, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and present procurement performance reports, including savings achieved, supplier performance metrics, and procurement KPIs to senior leadership.
  • Qualifications – Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (BE/B.Tech)
  • Experience – Minimum 15 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a senior management role focusing on strategic sourcing and supplier management.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and systems, such as Oracle
  • Expertise in contract management, compliance, and risk mitigation strategies
